January Kit - Slightly Early

This kit from www.createdwithpaper.com is a great way to get a head start on Valentine's Day. I totally love all the cupcakes!! I already posted the cupcake card I made with this paper.
I really like the tag on the card in the video. It turned out so cool!

Cards for Little People

December and January have a lot of card occasions for me, so I've started another card spree. Thought I would share the first one.

The first is a 2nd Birthday card for my friend's little girl. It's also a little sneak peak at the January kit :) The cupcake is cut & chalked from some of the kit paper.

Ingredients:

SU! Chocolate Chip, SU! Pixie Pink, October Afternoon "Ducks in a Row", American Crafts "Forbidden Love"- paper; Scallop Edge Punch, Bazzill In Stitchz "Formal Flourish", green embroidery floss, circle cutter, corner rounder, Stampin' Pastels

To make the cupcake, I cut the cupcake out of the Forbidden Love paper in three colours (brown, dark pink & light pink). I cut the whole cupcake in brown, the topper & icing in the light pink & just the icing in the dark pink. I chalked each section with the matching colour & put them all together with pop-up dots.

Digital Scrapbooking

Despite being a big techie, I've mostly avoided digital scrapbooking. It seemed to remove most of the fun of feeling & looking at all my scrapbook papers & embellishments. Well, every year I make "year" scrapbooks as family Christmas presents. Reality has caught up with me. Reproductions is MUCH easier with digital. So I decided to make my "year" scrapbook digitally and reproduce many copies. Apparently, it still takes a while to design pages digitally too. It turned out to be quite a bit of fun after all. I think I still like "real" scrapbooking better but there's some really cool things you can do digitally. For the title of my digital scrapbook I used a free kit from http://www.shabbyprincess.com/

It turned out pretty nice, don't ya think?

Still Shots of the Week Book

I thought I'd also post still shots of each page in the week book.

December Kit Time!!

This month's kit from www.createdwithpaper.com is pretty cool. It's a whole minibook in one kit. I managed to squish the whole project into just under 11 minutes :) Hope you enjoy it. Although the kit is for a recipe book featuring BoBunny's Kitchen Spice, I though I'd "spice it up a little" and make a differnt type of book from the same kit. I saw an idea quite a while ago, for a "week in our life" book. Our routine has changed so many times over the last few years that I thought a current life snapshot would be cool. It was a fun project. I took photos of our ordinary life for one week & then turn them into a book. By using pockets, tags and envelopes I managed to squeeze quite a few pictures into my book. Enjoy!

Bonus Video - Jolly by Golly

This month I had so much fun with the kit, I ended up recording 4 different projects!! Here's a single 12x12 family page & a non-traditional Christmas card made from the kit! www.createdwithpaper.com

90th Birthday Card

This card was lots of fun to make :) Although I'm not very good at it yet, I'm really enjoying the collage technique. I love vintage stuff & collage always gives me that feeling. This was made for the sweetest lady's 90th birthday party.

Ingredients:

Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Confetti Cream - paper; Buckaroo Blue, Vintage Violet, Chocolate Chip, VersaMark - ink; Friends 24-7, French Script, Frames with a Flourish - stamp sets; Queen & Co. blue pearls, American Crafts Thickers Darling Accents, white gel pen, Chocolate Chip satin ribbon, Doodlebug white candy shoppe mini rubons, white embossing powder, clear embossing powder - accessories;

I'm not sure if you can see it well in the picture or not but the background stamping has the damask stamp embossed in white & the bird is stamped with craft ink & embossed with clear powder.

November's Kit Video - Cosmo Cricket's "Jolly By Golly"

I had so much fun with the November kit from www.createdwithpaper.com that I ended up with 4 different projects to make videos from. Here's the first one :) Almost done the second so I should be posting that one in the next day or two. Hope you like them!!!

More Autumn Cards :)

Seems there's a lot of cards to be made in the fall!! I've been working with my leaf stamps again. This was my aunt's birthday card.

Ingredients:

Mellow Moss, BoBunny Mint Dot, BoBunny Plaid, Confetti Cream - paper; Chocolate Chip - ink; Autumn Leaf Prints, Wonderful Words - stamp set; American Crafts Carrot buttons, Chocolate Chip satin ribbon, linen thread, Watercolour pencil crayons, blender pen, corner rounder, machine stitching, clear embossing powder, stampin' dimensionals - accessories;

I had this plaid paper in a scrapbooking kit from last year & thought it would be great for a leaf card. I machine stitched all around the background, embossed the "Celebrate" with clear embossing powder and stamped, cut out & coloured the leaves.

October's Video

With the October kit from www.createdwithpaper.com I managed to feature two 12 x 12 layouts that take only minutes to make. Because I used the die cut sheet for the majority of the embelishments, the pages go together in a snap. Also, I made a cute Hallowe'en treat package with jelly beans. This treat bag is super easy to make too :) Hope you all enjoy it!

Fall Watercolouring

Watercoloured cards look so pretty!! Fall pictures just seem to beg me to watercolour them! Here are three of my watercoloured cards. I've used an aqua painter & reinkers on all three of them. You always want to use watercolour paper with the aqua painter so that your paper doesn't curl up as it dries. To do the actual watercolouring, I brush the water from the aqua painter over the area I want to colour. Next I drop ink into the wells of my palet (or a plastic lid would work). I dip the aqua painter into the ink & touch it to the wet area of the paper. The ink will run throughout the water you've brushed there, colouring your picture.

This first card was my father-in-law's birthday card. The Lovely as a Tree set remains lovely no matter how long I've had it. I love the way the card fold had the circle cut in it.

Ingredients:

Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Watercolour paper, Very Vanilla - paper; Brown StazOn - ink; Lovely As a Tree, All Holiday - stamp sets; Circle cutter, vintage brads, aqua painter, Old Olive reinker, More Mustard reinker, Pumpkin Pie reinker, Ruby Red reinker, Bashful Blue reinker - accessories;

This second card was my father's birthday card. The masking takes a little time but I like the scene I created.

Ingredients:

Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Very Vanilla, Watercolour paper - paper; Brown StazOn, Chocolate Chip - ink; Autumn Harvest, Fun & Fast Notes - stamp sets; Chocolate Chip Corduroy buttons, Earth Elements brads, Aqua painter, machine sewing, Pumpkin Pie reinker, More Mustard reinker, Garden Green reinker, Old Olive reinker, Ruby Red reinker, Chocolate Chip reinker, Really Rust reinker, Creamy Caramel reinker, Cool Caribbean reinker - accessories;

This final card really has little watercolouring on it but it was such a fun card. I used it for a little boy's birthday.

Ingredients:

Kraft, Old Olive, Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip - paper; Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Sahara Sand, Basic Black - ink; Bugs & Kisses, Sanded - stamp sets; Old Olive ribbon, circle cutter, crimper, aqua painter, Old Olive marker, Bashful Blue reinker, Chocolate Chip reinker - accessories;

Finally, a Card!!

This little confection is for my friend's new baby. I've been having fun with texture lately. If you look closely at the photo you can sort of see the strip texture on the white background and the waffle weave on the pink strip. The white strip effect was made by gluing 1/4" strips of white onto a white background. The waffle weave was made by running the paper through the crimper in both directions.

Ingredients:

Barely Banana, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White - paper; Close to Cocoa - ink; Fun & Fast Notes - Stamp set; VersaMarker, Stampin Pastels, sponge dauber, paper piercer, Pretty in Pink taffeta ribbon, Latte button, crimper, eyelet edge punch - accessories

September Video

And here is the fabulous September kit from www.createdwithpaper.com :) This video features two 12 x 12 layouts that are quite different. I loved making the pink page. With two little boys to scrapbook I rarely go whole hog on the pink thing! This picture is one of my favorites. It reminds me of all my good childhood memories. My mom hates this picture because she looks weird in it :)

Father's Day

Well, it's a little after Father's Day but I thought I'd still share the cards I made for all the fathers in my life. I haven't been very good about uploading my stuff lately, so I'm going to space out my Father's Day card :D sorry... one at a time...

This card is for my husband who's a big coffee fan :) I embossed the cup & the beans with ultra thick embossing powder & popped the cup up on dimensionals. I think it turned out very cute!

Ingredients:

Chocolate Chip, Kraft, Very Vanilla, Creamy Caramel - paper; Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel - ink; Like it a Latte, Everyday Flexible Phrases - stamp sets; Ultra-Thick Embossing powder, Styled Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware, crimper, Chocolate Chip felt ribbon, stampin' dimensionals, 1/2" circle punch - accessories;

More Mother's Day

This was my mom's Mother's Day card, I really wanted to try out all my new dies. The flower is one of the dies that embosses & cuts and I just love the leaf die! The whole card came together very quickly because I already had the flower/leaf layout in my head. I've also been having a lot of fun with my eyelet punch lately :)
Ingedients:
Rose Red, Old Olive, Cameo Coral, Whipser White, Raspberry Tart DSP - paper; Rose Red - ink; En Francais - stamp set; Eyelet punch, green rhinestone brads, Stampin' Up! Simple Flower Sissix die, Stampin' Up! Little Leaves Sissix die - accessories;

College Card

This was my first attempt at a College card. I'm sure there's a more technical description, but basically a college card is stamping as many background layers as you can with one focal image on top. I think I managed to use 6 different stamp sets and four types of embelishments for this one card . I think it turned out really cool.

Ingredients:

Baja Breeze, Confetti Cream, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip - paper; Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Chocolate Chip - ink; Friends 24-7, Music Score (non-SU), En Francias, Aged to Perfection, Stamp of Authenticity, Winter Post - stamp sets; Old Olive grosgrain ribbon, mini library clips, linen thread, Button Boquet, Button Latte, Stampin' dimensionals, blender pen, Stampin' Pastels - accessories;

Mother's Day

As spring FINALLY stretches out her hand... (occasionally) it's time for that thoughtful day... Mother's Day! Time for me to get busy! Here's the cards I've been working on.

I love the colours of this first one! Celery & Guava. This card was a lot of cutting! After stamping and cutting out the frame, I cut the mat free hand. I think this one's going to be for my grandma.

Ingredients:

Certainly Celery, Very Vanilla - paper; Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Blush Blossom, Groovy Guava - ink; Bella Toile, Botanical Blooms (SAB), Frames with a Florish, All Holiday - stamp sets; cream half pearls (Pretties Kit), Certainly Celery marker, Stampin' Dimensionals - accessories;

This card was fun because I love office themed items and tags are so much fun. You can hardly tell in the photo, but there's a reinforcement on the circle punched in the tag. I think that's my favorite item on the whole card :)
I ripped the edges of my Pink Pirouette & then moistened them. After it was adhered, I rolled up the edges all the way around. The flowers on the tag were paper pieced, which means I stamped the image in green onto the tag & then stamped it again in Rose Red on Pink Pirouette paper. Next I cut out just the flower parts & glued them over the original stamped image.

Ingredients:

Old Olive, Rose Red, Pink Pirouette, Very Vanilla - paper; Rose Red, Certainly Celery, Old Olive - ink; Friends 24-7, All Holiday - stamp sets; piercing template, pink embroidery floss, Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware, Crop-a-Dile, 1/2" circle punch, Old Olive grosgrain ribbon, blender pen - accessories;

This month is special because I've made two videos :) This first is two 8x8 layouts with the regular monthly kit from www.createdwithpaper.com. This month the kit contains items from the "Abbey Road" collecion by BoBunny. Such pretty colours!!

As a special addition for this month is a card kit. It contains supplies for at least three cards :) Here's my three.

I Love Fifth Ave. Floral

So my "little" cousin turned 18 on Monday. She's a good 6" taller than me and not so little any more. Here's the birthday card I made for her. I'm totally crazy about Fifth Avenue Floral!! It so pretty & classy at the same time.

Ingredients:

Urban Oasis DSP, Kraft, Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze - paper; Basic Black - ink; Fifth Avenue Floral - stamp set; Designer Hardware Soho, Stampin' Dimensionals - accessories;

To make the flowers I just stamped with black ink on the colored card stock & cut them out. I popped up one of the Baja Breeze flowers with Stampin' Dimensionals. This card was really quick & easy to make - about 20 minutes.

Decor Elements

Well, I picked the "Home is Love" Decor Elements for my Level 2 hostess item a little while ago. Then there's this tree. As soon as I saw this tree I was in love! I order the large tree in chocolate to go with my "Home is Love" and went to work on my fireplace. This is just above the fireplace mantle. I love how it turned out! The tree comes in several pieces and must be put together. My little boys "helped" cut out the pieces and put it up.

Aren't Cards Fun?

Here's a really old Father's Day card I really like. I find the seaside set a very reasonable set to use for masculine cards. To created the striped background paper, I took three different colors of the same patterned paper and cut them into strips. By mixing up the width & the order of the paper, I made my own multi coloured background paper.

Ingredients:

Bashful Blue Prints DSP, Real Red Prints DSP, Brilliant Blue Prints DSP, Brilliant Blue, Bashful Blue, Whisper White - paper; Brilliant Blue, Bashful Blue - ink; Seaside, Everyday Flexible Phrases - stamp sets; Brilliant Blue brads, linen thread - accessories;

This is a birthday card for one of the girls in my son's class. I used some the April kit "Fawnd of You" from http://www.createdwithpaper.com/

Ingredients:
Almond Dot (BoBunny), Bouquet of Bliss (Sassafrass Lass), Chai tea (Sassafrass Lass), Girl's Best Friend (Sassafrass Lass)- paper; Chocolate Holly Doodle stickers (Pink Paislee), Happy Pal Around - chipboard sticker shapes (Sassafrass Lass), Textured Corduroy Blossoms (Maya Road) - accessories;

Card Bonanza!

So I got all excited the other day & made three cards. It's my mom's birthday today so two of the cards were for her. I'm crazy about the two flower ones & was pleased with the ice cream sundae one.

I was helping Mom with a card a week or so ago & was suddenly struck by the idea that the white flowers from the Pretties kit would make the best daisies if I added Summer Sun corduroy buttons. This card has almost no stamping *gasp* but I thought it turned out great!

Ingredients:

Summer Sun textured cardstock, Whisper White - paper; Summer Sun - ink; All Holidays - stamp set; Summer Sun corduroy buttons, Pretties Kit, Styled Silver hodgepodge hardware, small oval punch, ticket corner punch, Laughter & Love white rub ons - accessories;

This next beauty uses my current favorite set: Fifth Avenue Floral!! The card was pretty but after I added the Stickles on the rose petals, the whole card came to life!

Ingredients:

Parisian Breeze Speciality paper, Baja Breeze textured cardstock, Whipser White - paper; Chocolate Chip - ink; Fifth Avenue Floral, Circle of Friendship - stamp sets; Eyelet Boarder punch, Organza ribbon, Stickles, 1" circle punch, Button Bouquet, Button Latte - accessories;

And last but not least...
Ingedients:

Close to Cocoa, Riding Hood Red, Whipser White, Pink Pirouette, Candy Lane DSP - paper; Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette - ink; Sassy Suzy, Goody, Goody Gumdrops - stamp sets: Button Bouquet, scallop circle, Stickles, 1 3/8" circle punch, 1 1/4" circle punch, Close to Cocoa velvet ribbon, paper piercing template, pop-up dots, Stampin Pastels, blender pen - accessories;

Very Pretty Anniversary Card

I LOVE how this card turned out!! I made this for my parents' anniversary. The Red & White is so my thing... usually it's blue & white with me but I'm really into this one too.
To make the castle part, I stamped in vellum with StazOn black ink. Next I painted the back of the image with white acrylic paint. Finally, I used a blender pen & Riding Hood Red ink pad to color the red bits on the front of the vellum.

Ingredients:

Riding Hood Red, Whipser White, Vellum - paper; Black StazOn, Riding Hood Red - ink; Bella Toile, Wonderful Words I, Provencal (hostess) - stamp sets; Organza Ribbon, white half pearls (Pretties Kit), white acrylic paint, blender pen - accessories;

I've been Tagged!

Today I was tagged by my artistic friend Tammy to take part in a fun little blog tag.
Here is the instructions:
1. Go to your Picture Folder on your computer or wherever you store your pictures.
2. Go to the 6th Folder, then pick the 6th picture in that folder.
3. Post that picture on your blog and the story that goes along with the picture.
4. Tag 6 other people that you know or don’t know to do the same thing and leave a commenton their blog or an e-mail letting them know you chose them.
So I went into My Pictures and chose the 6th folder and the sixth photo . . . . . .and here it is.
My boys climbing a tree at Marina Park last September. They totally love that park & it's close enough to our house to walk. I have a whole group of great photos of them at the park. These photos will be part of my new video featuring April's "Fawnd of You" kit from www.createdwithpaper.com

And now to tag 6 others... I tag:

Baja Breeze & Kiwi Kiss

It seems Baja Breeze & Kiwi Kiss were a favorite color combo one evening :) Here's some samples in blue & green.

This first card was CASE'd from http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1180888?cat=14668. I changed the patterned paper & the colors.

Ingredients:

Bella Rose DSP, Urban Garden DSP, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Not Quite Navy, Basic Grey, Whisper White - paper; Basic Grey, Baja Breeze - ink; Puns from the Past - stamp set; corner rounder, clear buttons, Kiwi Kiss striped grosgrain ribbon, piercing template, cyrstal effects, white crochet cotton - accessories;

The fall/winter 2008 catalogue had these cute cookie wrapers in the hostess section. When I got my new Sale-a-bration Yummy set, I thought it would be perfect. Here's my version of the cookie wrapper.

Ingredients:

Baja Breeze Patterns DSP, Whipser White, parchment baking paper - paper; Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy - ink; Yummy - stamp set; corner rounder, scallop edge punch, Baja Breeze striped grosgrain ribbon - accessories;

Unfortunately this next card is blurry & I'm too busy (read lazy) to take another picture of it :) It's a really quick card that showcases heat embossing. I think it's very simple & pretty.

Ingredients:

Kiwi Kiss, Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze, Whisper White - paper; Not Quite Navy, Versa Mark - ink; Upsy Daisy, Close as a Memory - stamp sets; White embossing powder - accessories;

And last but not least my Botanical Blooms card. This one was copied right from the Sale-a-bration mini catalogue. It's not actually Kiwi & Baja, it's Bashful Blue & Certainly Celery. Still pretty, I think.

Ingredients:

Sahara Sand, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Whisper White - paper; Bashful Blue, Brilliant Blue, Certainly Celery, Old Olive - ink; Botanical Blooms - stamp set; Pretties Kit, Chateau Bella Rub Ons, scallop edge punch, paper piercing template, Bashful Blue taffeta ribbon - accessories;

Easter Treats

There was a Splitcoaststampers challenge using these round top boxes and I loved all the samples I was seeing! I decided to download the pattern and use the box for my last party.
I love how it turned out :) It was really quick & easy.

Ingredients:

Certainly Celery, Delicate Dots DSP (SAB), Very Vanilla - paper; Bashful Blue - ink; Yummy (SAB) - stamp set; Vanilla hodgepodge hardware, 3/4" circle punch, circle cutter - accessories;

Here's a link to the pattern. I just printed this .pdf onto my card stock by replacing my regular paper with Certainly Celery in the printer tray and then cut it out.

I've become a member of the design team for Created with Paper. These are the layouts that go with the video in the last post. Check out http://www.createdwithpaper/ .com

And now onto cards!! This card was the Valentine's card I made for my husband. I'd gone to visit my sister (8 hour drive away) during the Valentine's week-end & he suprised me by showing up on Valentine's day. I AM bananas about him :)

Ingredients:

Old Olive, Certainly Celery, Barely Banana, Pretty in Pink, Sahara Sand, Certainly Celery Prints DSP, Whisper White - paper; Chocolate Chip, Barely Banana - ink; Sock Monkey, Euphoria mini alphabet - stamp sets; Heart to Heart punch, 1/4" square punch - accessories;
