Give a Scrap About Autism

Very old baby picture of Evan...  I love my blue
cookie monster - made from a scallop punch and some
circle punches.  Also crazy about the silver rub on
from Jenni Bowlin.
This last weekend we had a fundraising scrap for autism.  It was totally awesome!  I can't remember when I had so much fun :)

I didn't really have any specific project to work on, so I just took a bunch of kits and some random photos.  These were the pages I ended up with...
This was made from my most FAVORITE kit - For the Record
by Echo Park.  Cute pictures of the boys... You can dress
them up, but you can't take them out...

And finally some older Christmas pictures.  Had a hard time with these because of all the bright blue.
Ended up avoiding it altogether.  Like how they turned out :)

Mom's Birthday Card - Sixty!?!

Sixty years has my mother passed upon this earth... amazing!  In honour of this occasion, I created this beauty!  It has a bit of this and a bit of that to create the whole :)  The green paper is from the Jackson Garden collection, the brown flocked paper and the brown floral paper are from the Little Boy Blue collection, the cream embossed paper is from the Graceful collection, the kraft doilie is from the Double Dutch collection, the buttons are from the This & That collection and the flower is from the Portobello Rd collection.  The final touch was the some green sticker numbers that I shined up with a VersaMarker and some glossy enamel embossing powder.  I inked the embossed paper and zigzag stitched around it.  I love how this turned out.  This is one of my favourite colour combos too :)

Card I made for Mom's 60th Birthday...

And for the Record...

So, this kit from Echo Park ticks almost every favourite button I have!  I LOVE the colours, LOVE the style, can't seem to stop using this one!!  It has that awesome combination of vintage and office supply, mixed with fresh exciting colours that makes me love it oh, so much.

My favourite part of this first layout is the little shipping tags I cut from the border paper.  Also kinda crazy about the rainbow effect of the background paper while still maintaining the "white-ness".  On the second layout, totally love the vintage camera, the chipboard flower, the ledger background paper and the little alphabet strips.  So happy, me!
Brody making faces as he pretends to dislike the cake
Grandma made him... such a naughty boy!

Some old pics... Brody's diaper station was still in the corner
of the living room!

And last but not least, the video production of these beauties :)

A Little of This, a Little of That

So although it's quite late, I'm still posting January's kit stuff now...  Life's crazy.  I think this kit fits perfectly.  It's called This & That, which is basically what everyday consists of...  It's a pretty fun kit and feeds one of my many addictions, rulers.  Not sure what makes me love them so much but I think they're the perfect embellishment for everything.  It's a fairly "girly" kit but I still made boy pages (the two boys and all) and I was pleased with the results.  Have a peek.

I've been hanging onto these pics for a while (Aden's
almost 8 years old now, LOL) because every time I
looked at those pink, red and teal outfits, I couldn't
imagine what paper would match... Ta dah! Found some!!

And the crazy, giggly boy who likes forts used a sheet that
matches this paper perfectly!  Even rulers to match - heaven!

And last but not least, here's the video of these layouts :)  Enjoy!

Holiday cards from Kit Leftovers

Here's also a few Holiday/Christmas cards I've made recently.  I used some of my latest Mistletoe papers & embellishments and then pulled out the leftovers from the Snowfall collection.  I think it's such a gorgeous kit!

Sing me a Sweet Serenade

So December's kit is called Serenade.  It's beautiful.  All rich colours, swirls and beautiful garden themes.  I think the green in this kit is my favourite colour :)  The dragonflies are great too.  One of the sheets has a beige/neutral background with a gorgeous big dragonfly on it.  Have to find the perfect picture before I use it, LOL!  So, for things I actual did make, below are my layouts for this month.  They all went together quite quickly even though I decided I wanted to do the 3D flowers on Ainsley's page.  The best part about BoBunny paper is that even simple layouts look like you spent lots of time on them, :)

My cutie little niece with the perfect dress for this kit!

Love this picture :)  Can't believe my little boy's so
big now!!  I think that tire might still be sitting there :o

Jingle Bells - BoBunny's Mistletoe Collection

Hi Everybody!!! Halloween's over and I can hear Christmas knocking on my planning calender :) This kit has definitely got me in the Christmas mood! These pages were really easy to make. Everything just seemed to go so easily. I love BoBunny. Every time I use one of their kits I know my pages are going to be easy.

These are older family Christmas pictures.  Both
boys had these adorable shirt that said "'L' is for Lion"
The mouth on the lion opened & said "Roar" inside, hee hee.
I love how serious the conversation between Brody
& Grandpa looks :)

I missed recording the very end of this layout which, of course, included the coolest part.  After adding the rub ons, I used the VersaMarker on random Christmas lights and the star at the top of the tree & then added sparkly embossing powder.  This made glittered spots on my rub on.  Anyway, hope you enjoy the video.

Prairie Hill Collection - October

When I went looking for my paper collections at Pink Paislee, I knew immediately that I "needed" this one.  I loved the colour combination of grey, rust and gold. The muted, yet bright  patterns looked so fun!  Due to my usual feeling that I can do 5,000 things a day, I was recording the video at 2am and realized the next day that this first "help" layout was only half recorded!!  Grrrrr.... It's my favorite of this month's project too.  Anyway, I grabbed the camera & went to work on the next layout.  It turned out pretty good too.

These pictures remind me of all the days the boys
"helped" when they were little.  Sometimes
aggravating back then but awesome memories
now.  Love the way the inked chipboard swirls add pop
to this page.

For Brad's 30th birthday, we went go-carting.  Evan was only
a few months old, but I got a couple laps in with Brody :)
Ahhh, Brad :)   Love you.

And finally the video... kinda missed the music in this one.  Maybe I'll re-post it later, LOL.

September's Missing Post

The My Mind's Eye "Miss Caroline" collection was sooooo fun. I loved the combination of rustic and pretty. So many fun patterns too. I'm a plaid lover among my many other quirks. Here's the layouts I made for the video:

For my Aunt & Uncle's 25th Anniversary, my cousin
organized a weekend vacation for them. This picture
was taken in front of the fireplace at the lodge.

This picture always makes me laugh.  Every time I look at it
I can almost remember the stories we were telling.  Painting
the wooden embellishment was fun.

And last but not least, the video:

August's Missing Posts

Well, life has definitely been busy... Obviously I've been neglecting my blog. Brad's renovations this summer included digging up one side of the basement. This involved a very large pile of dirt that greatly attracted my children's interest. There has been a fine layer of dirt over my whole house since July. Next, my children brought head lice home from school. I am officially tired of cleaning!! I have been inspired to re-organized/redecorate my house however, so maybe I'll post some of it when I'm finished :)

So enough blabbing about my house, here's the stuff I should have posted in August.

Layouts:

I LOVE this picture!  There's something over the top adorable
about babies playing with their toes.  Really like the colours
in this layout too.  Love my new jumbo scallop edge punch.

This two page spread features the photos that Val Wise took
Mom, Toni & me at the Sleeping Giant Scrap.

Random Layouts

Sorry the lighting isn't better.  These were just some random layouts I was working on to try and finish Evan's baby book (*gasp*, it's still not done??  *sigh* no...)

Most of this paper is from October Afternoon.
I paper pieced the fire truck, so I'm feeling pretty good about that!
This is mostly just random paper from my scrap room.
I used my Daily Junque stamps, my Tim Holtz key and Tim Holtz
ruler ribbon.

Double Dutch Collection

Picnic perfect - I couldn't resist this collection from the first moment I saw it.  I love gingham.  Everything about it says summer to me :)  and sooo many colours of it - perfect!

I love these pictures of Brody & the neighbour's cat
I forgot how cute and little he was :)
I was totally pleased with how this page turned out &

Jackson Lodge Garden - June's Kit

June's kit is a great mix of masculine and feminine.  It has beautiful floral patterns as well as manly stripes, circles and sparks.  Here's a peek at the layouts I made with it.

And here's the video :)

Birthday Present

Mom & I had a great long weekend this year.  My birthday usually falls somewhere around that weekend, so as a treat she booked two days & a night a the McVicar Manor Bed & Breakfast.  It's about two blocks from my house and it's gorgeous!  I think it's one of my most favourite properties in Thunder Bay.  The folks who run it set up a table in the corner tower in the living room for us to scrapbook in...  It was perfect!  Check out the pics
So I've merged a couple pics together to show the whole building together but there's a little distortion, LOL!  Sorry...

I made 5 layouts during our day... The creek is along the side of the property so on Saturday afternoon, we worked out in the sun porch facing the creek... So beautiful!!!

May's Missing Posts :)

So I seem to have skipped posting anything in May...  It's not that I didn't do anything, I just didn't post it.  Let me rectify that situation now!

May's kit was a beauty!  Bright, bold colours and gorgeous flowers I LOVED it!  Here's the video & my layouts...

I think it's this floral paper at the bottom that makes me love this kit so much.  I love frilly flowers :)

Curiosity Shoppe - Graphic 45

So I was browsing all the new scrapbooking products after the Winter CHA and found this great collection called Curiosity Shoppe by Graphic 45.  I was totally in love, however it didn't really say "Monthly Collection" to me...  Not everyone loves vintage as much as I do.  So, I decided to order just a minium order from the wholesaler... for me!  Here's the first page I've made with it...

Grandma`s Birthday

So I still have quite a bit of the Graceful collection left over & thought I would use it on this layout of my Grandma`s 91st Birthday :)    I used my two edge punches & my new Nestabilities dies for all the great edges on this layout.
