Olivia Collection - December 2010

This month's kit is great if you want to make a special project as a Christmas gift or just want to whip up a mini book quickly!

I love chipboard mini-albums but usually it takes me a while, cause I'm fussy :) My last mini album took about 10 hours to make... this month's book only took me about 2 - 3 hours, including picking out my pictures.

My favorite thing about this set is that the pad of paper is die cut to match the mini album.

Check out this great Olivia collection from BoBunny.

And here's the add-on kit. I totally LOVE adhesive chipboard stuff. It gives texture and depth to my project without me having to do anything :) The BoBunny Journaling stamps are a fave too. Anything with swirls...

Watch for a video post comming soon! (well probably tomorrow, but anyway...)

November's "Very Merry" Kit

November's collection is "Very Merry" from October Afternoon. As soon as I saw the gingerbread men, I was sold!! I found these adorable gingerbreadmen brads from Doodlebug & got so excited I could barely contain myself, LOL! Once I started making projects, the ideas just kept comming. The colours seemed to just work with all my Christmas pictures from last year & the cards... soooo many ideas! Tammy & Toni both came up with some gorgeous cards that are listed in the gallery at www.createdwithpaper.com.

Another special new thing I've decided to start is an "Add-On Kit" for each monthly collection. There's always soooo much stuff I want to put into the kits I have trouble knowing where to stop, so for $10 this kit contains more goodies to enhance each kit! Love, love love the wild cards with this collection :)

And finally, hope you enjoy another video!! I've decided to offer a 40% off coupon to every subscriber to my youtube channel. If you have signed up yet, go on over & get your 40% coupon emailed to you when you subscribe!

Spider's Web - October's Kit

My first collection as the new owner of Created with Paper!! This kit was fun to work with... I love glitter embossing powder because, unlike ordinary glitter, the embossing powder keeps the glitter stuck to the paper!

August Video - Free Bird

This month's kit from http://www.createdwithpaper.com/ is "Free Bird" from My Mind's Eye. This kit has sooooo many fun pieces!! I can't believe how many die cuts come with this one! The chunky chip letter are also one of my favorites. I totally love the bird in this set, so both projects ended up with the bird :)
The card will be a baby card for my old neighbour & the 12 x 12 layout goes into Evan's baby book.

Hope you enjoy the video!

End of Year Teacher Gifts Part II

These are the cards I made to go with the calendars I posted last time. All the daycare people got the flower card and the teachers got the blackboard cards. They both turned out so cute!

I saw the blackboard ideas in one of my old Stampin' Sucess magazines. I altered it & added my own twist to it :)

Ingredients:

Basic Black, Creamy Caramel, Ruby Red, Whipser White, Chocolate Chip - paper; VersaMark, Creamy Caramel - ink; First Day - stamp set; Corner rounder, White embossing powder, Ruby Red 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain ribbon, Round Tab punch, Stampin' Up Billboard Sizzlit strip die - accessories;

To make the red tops of the apple, I punched out a tab in ruby red paper then slid the tab back into the punch from the bottom so that only the top 1/4" was inside the punch. Next I punched again to get just the little sliver of red. The stem & the seeds were just cut with sissors. Both the edges of the black board & the edges of the apples were inked with Creamy Caramel.

This card was also inspired by a card I saw in Stampin' Success.

Ingredients:
Not Quite Navy, Whipser White, Green Tea DSP - paper; Not Quite Navy (craft), Old Olive (craft), Baja Breeze - ink; En Francais, Botanical Blooms - stamp set; Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, rhinestone jewel, Old Olive ribbon, clear embossing powder, distressing kit - accessories;
To get the glossy look to the flowers I stamped them with craft ink & then embossed them with clear embossing powder. I love the way it looks on the handwriting background.

End of Year Teacher Gifts Part I

My oldest son had three teachers last year, my younger son had both a teacher & multiple daycare caregivers & they have a bus driver. Thank you gifts were a bit complicated this year :)

In an attempt to keep the price down as well as give a nice gift, I decided I would make "school year" calanders that started in July and ended in June. I wasn't sure what to use as a calendar base but I found some great 12 x 12 cork tiles at Wal-Mart. I could slice them down the middle with an exacto knife & have perfect 12 x 6 bases for my calenders. I also made cards but I'll share those in another post :)

Here's the calendar

I think it turned out great & even with all the embellishments, I think they cost around $10 each. I printed the month tags from Word & then stamped the month name, some decorative stamps & distress ink on each tag. It's a little difficult to see but 10 of the tags have white circle "reinforcements" around the hole at the top. I really think this little added bit, with the distress ink, made the tags. The big flower to the right was made by punching a scalloped circle, poking a hole to mark the center & then snipping down from each side of the scallops towards the poked center.

July Kit

As usual, I had a lot of fun with this month's kit. I'm always amazed at how much stuff is in one kit! I made a little boy's birthday card and four 8 1/2 x 11 scrapbook pages with this kit. Of course, this means I still have lots of paper left so I'll have to get busy & print more pictures :)
The July kit is Cosmo Cricket's Girl Friday from www.createdwithpaper.com.

June Kit

June's kit from www.createdwithpaper.com is BoBunny's Roughin' It Kit. This kit is so cute! The tree paper (In the Woods) is my absolute favorite. I think I've used it on every page I've made with this kit so far :) I was still sorting through old photos (as I've been doing for almost a year now) and decided to try and 8 1/2 x 11 scrapbook about a camping trip we went on with my sister & my brother-in-law. Serendipitiously, I got June's kit just after I'd finished the title page for my new album. The video includes two of the pages I made for that album & I'll post a few more after the video. Enjoy!

Mama-razzi - May Kit

May's kit was BoBunny's Mama-razzi from www.createdwithpaper.com. I was super excited when I saw this kit in the catalogue!! You all know how much I love vintage stuff & all the old cameras really got my creative juices flowing. The colours are great for little boys, so no worries about finding the perfect picture & paper combination! I think the new blackboard chipboard from Cosmo Cricket is really cool. The photobox in the video was really quick & easy to make! Enjoy...

April's Kit - 3 Layouts!!

This was BoBunny's Sophie collection from www.createdwithpaper.com. I wasn't crazy about the purple in the kit when I first saw it but this turned out to be a fun kit! I made three layouts in a flash... I've been trying to finish up the photos from some of the older album's I've started, so the 8x8 layouts were for my Florida trip album. I really like how they turned out.

Vintage Layouts

I love vintage things!! Any vintage scrapbooking product immediately draws my attention. However, I hardly ever make vintage pages. Since I've been going through some of my older photos & trying to finish up the boys baby books, I found the studio photos from 2005 of the boys. I love these photos. I think this was the cutest my boys ever were! These photos were perfect for vintage layouts. I poured everything vintage I wanted into these pages. Hope you like them!
